What we have done is started sending cards to player in a self addressed stamped envelope (SASE). To date we have collected over signed 100 cards this way. Many from all-stars like Mike Mussina, Andrew Jones, Brad Lidge, Fernando Valenzuela and Mark Buerhle. Younger players and retired players are more likely to sign than many of the current big names. Do not expect anything back from Alex Rodriguez or Derek Jeter. Not only is it great fun for my son and I to collect these, they also make great presents and gifts. How many times has you child been given a game for their birthday that they never get into or play just once? A signed baseball card is a unique item. Most kids are not going to see many of these. One of my sons friends is a huge Boston Red Sox fan. He gets that from his dad. Early in the 2007 season, we received two signed cards back from Dustin Pedroia. We gave one of them to my sons friend as a birthday present. At the end of the 2007 season, Dustin was named the AL rooki …

So much so, that the non-pitchers think they are all crazy. The funny thing about baseball superstition is they can arise at anytime based on good or bad game experience. Baseball superstitions are fascinating and is embedded deep in baseball folklore. Here are my nine top baseball superstitions. I’m using nine to go with that “superstition” theme - shake a leg! The Top 9 Baseball Superstitions 1. Not Stepping on the foul line when going on or coming off the field Pitchers and managers are always very cautious not to touch that foul line. 2. Eating the same food before every game Wade Boggs, who played for the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees was infamous for eating chicken before ever game. 3. Leaving the Pitcher Alone and Not talking about a No-hitter This is one of the superstitions that almost every baseball player adheres to. The last thing any player wants to do is jinx his pitcher when he has a No-hitter going. The superstition goes - if you talk about it the no-hitter …

Hank Aaron broke the record after 1976 but never the less broke this record was undefeated for a long time. Babe Ruth played for three different teams in his whole career. He played for the longest time with the New York Yankees as an outfielder. His performance drastically soared and the number of home runs he can make can even out score the total performance of a team. When he stands on the plate, everybody expects a home run. He practically led this team to their victories. Without him, the team would be paralyzed. However, Ruth did not play MLB smoothly. He had his own episodes of rebellious acts that caused him suspensions and ejections from the court. Nevertheless, he makes a comeback and every time he finishes a season, he would always perform better. This left-handed baseball phenomenon was one of the players sold out by his previous team. He played as one of the many talented pitchers of the Boston Red Sox. He was sold out because he demanded a raise in salary and they could …

Neil Leifer: Ballet in the Dirt: The Golden Age of Baseball Neil Leifer: Ballet in the Dirt: The Golden Age of Baseball This superb collection of 60s and 70s baseball images commemorates the sport’s finest moments via the lens of legendary sports photographer Neil Leifer Featuring over 300 photos, the book is divided into four chapters: The Game; the Heroes-like Roberto Clemente, Mickey Mantle, and pitcher Sandy Koufax; the Rivalry (infamously, between the Yankees and the Boston Red Sox and the Giants and Dodgers); and the World Series championship.
Customer Review: Amazing Collection of Images
It’s mind-boggling to think that Neil Leifer was basically a kid when he took most of these pictures. Born in ‘42, Leifer had shot a great many of these images before he was even 21. (There’s a great shot of him sitting with Stan Musial in which he doesn’t even look old enough to be the bat boy, much less a professional pohotographer.) Clearly, however, he was a prodigy and a natural, because this book is full of incredible shots. The narrative that goes along with the images isn’t always illuminating; if you’re a big enough fan of baseball history to be buying a book like this, then you will already know most of what it has to say. But the text is beside the point; it’s the pictures that matter, and on that score Leifer is hard to touch in the history of sports photography. Most of the great players of the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s are represented, in a wealth of B&W images along with amazingly vibrant color shots that capture the sometimes balletic, sometimes violent beauty of this ‘pastoral’ game (to borrow the popular misnomer, undoubtedly coined by someone who’s never seen a collision at the plate up close).

Customer Review: ridiculous
If you are a Boston fan, you will buy a Red Sox colored hat, not green, not pink, not black.
What, the colors are too boring?
You have to wear hats in your own color?

Customer Review: Great Hat.
I ordered 3 in size large, all were consistent and about what I expect in a large fitted hat.
I’ve already lost one, the second one is starting to look pretty ragged.

Customer Review: great price great jacket
I ordered this jacket for my mother-in-laws 80th birthday and I am so pleased with it I have ordered one for myself.
The sizing does run small so order the next size up from your normal size.
I am 5ft8in and not a small woman by any stretch.
The X-Large fits me well , but you need to understand that the jacket is short wasted and falls just above the hips. For the price you are getting a whole lot of bang for your buck.
Customer Review: Doesn’t Fit Right
I loved this jacket online and I got it just in time to wear to the World Series, game 4. Problem was, it didn’t fit. The length was very short, so whenever I raised my arms, my midriff was exposed. Also the sleeves were just barely to my wrists. I had ordered a Medium, which was sized 8-10. I am only a 4-6 and yet the jacket was still too small. Sadly, I had to return it and never had a jacket to wear to the game.
