How To Motivate The Young Player In Youth BaseballPosted by: Mr.BaseBall in Baseball Sites and The Best ArticlesInstead of You should talk to the player about what he did right followed by what ever error he made mental or physical and then follow up with a positive comment to close it out…commonly referred to as the sandwich technique! Here is something else coaches need to be aware of when it comes to their relationship with their players. Coaches need to be prepared at practice get your stuff done with the players and then on game day kick back call the shots and then let the players have fun and play the game. If players are making mental mistakes then it is back to practice the next day and its the coaches turn to get it going. Game day should be for the players. It goes without saying that coaches need to know their players different personalities and motivate accordingly. Some players need to be pushed harder, they need you to be in their face from time to time, others don’t need much at all to keep them motivated, while some need just encouragement to get the most out of them. I would … Tags: Encouragement, Face, Fun Game, Game Day, Mental Mistakes, Personalities, Play Game, Play The Game, Relationship, Sandwich, Stuff, Youth Baseball

Keeping Track of Baseball - Baseball Scorebook Options For YouPosted by: Mr.BaseBall in Baseball Sites and The Best ArticlesTypes of baseball scorebooks In as much as each scorebook may be customized to suit the needs of each team, there are two general types of baseball scorebooks that are available in the market today, the manual and electronic baseball scorebooks. Mostly spiral bound, manual scorebooks are portable notebooks in form, complete with the required stat sheets. Stat sheets included in manual scorebooks can contain those needed for batting positions, game-by-game records for each player, games and innings, pictorial scoring, and prefigured batting averages. Continuous batting and slo-pitch scorebooks are also available. An electronic baseball scorebook, on the other hand, is a software program designed for tracking down a team’s game-by-game and season-to-date statistics. Since an electronic baseball scorebook features more extensive space for information compared to a manual scorebook, schedules, biographical information, and statistical report for certain opponents, may be recorded, on top … Tags: Baseball Baseball, Baseball Scorebooks, Batting Averages, Biographical Information, Electronic Baseball Scorebook, Game Player, Game Records, Notebooks, Opponents, Options, Player Games, Slo Pitch, Software Program, Stat Sheets, Statistical Report, Statistics

Don’t Get Embarrassed - Stay Focused on the Baseball GamePosted by: Mr.BaseBall in Baseball Sites and The Best ArticlesIt is the ability to comeback after repeated failure, understand baseball psychology and have mental foresight. It’s true! According to the top professional baseball scouts, players at the AAA level (one below the major leagues) what separates the 5% from the rest of the best is having that baseball mindset, the ability to overcome intimidation and keeping your cool. Signed Baseball Cards As GiftsPosted by: Mr.BaseBall in Baseball Sites and The Best ArticlesWhat we have done is started sending cards to player in a self addressed stamped envelope (SASE). To date we have collected over signed 100 cards this way. Many from all-stars like Mike Mussina, Andrew Jones, Brad Lidge, Fernando Valenzuela and Mark Buerhle. Younger players and retired players are more likely to sign than many of the current big names. Do not expect anything back from Alex Rodriguez or Derek Jeter. Not only is it great fun for my son and I to collect these, they also make great presents and gifts. How many times has you child been given a game for their birthday that they never get into or play just once? A signed baseball card is a unique item. Most kids are not going to see many of these. One of my sons friends is a huge Boston Red Sox fan. He gets that from his dad. Early in the 2007 season, we received two signed cards back from Dustin Pedroia. We gave one of them to my sons friend as a birthday present. At the end of the 2007 season, Dustin was named the AL rooki … Tags: Alex Rodriguez, All Stars, Andrew Jones, Baseball Card, Baseball Cards, Baseball Gifts, Birthday Present, Boston Red Sox, Brad Lidge, Dad, Derek Jeter, Fernando Valenzuela, Game, Mike Mussina, Retired Players, Sase, Self Addressed Stamped Envelope, Sending Cards, Sox FanTraining & Conditioning for Baseball Pulitzer Prize winning author Norman Mailer has chronicled the political, social and cultural views of the United States for over fifty years.
